SINGAPORE, Dec. 8 (UPI) -- Malaysia's Genting International Bhd. has won the right to build and run Singapore's second casino.
A $3 billion proposal by Genting and its sister firm, Star Cruises, beat a rival offer from Bahamas' Kerzner International Ltd. and a consortium led by Eighth Wonder, a Las Vegas firm, the BBC reported Friday.

Genting's plan includes a Universal Studios theme park and DreamWorks Digital Animation Studios. It also will feature the world's largest "oceanarium," Quest Marine Life Park, and Equarius Water Park, a huge water-themed park.
The new resort should be open for business by 2010.
Last May, Singapore awarded its first casino license to Las Vegas Sands.
