WASHINGTON, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Sara Lee Food & Beverage Co. is recalling its 12-ounce Premium White Hamburger Buns in North and South Carolina.
The 4,826 packages of buns, produced at the company's Valdese, N.C., bakery, are being recalled because some might contain milk that is not listed as an ingredient. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration said Tuesday that poses a potential risk to milk-allergic individuals.
The product was sold and distributed to retailers and grocery stores in North Carolina and South Carolina and includes Sara Lee Premium White Hamburger Buns with the UPC Code 7294575177 and the production code SEPT 10 3452401226.
The FDA said the products are highly unlikely to be on store shelves as the expiration date has past, but some may remain in consumer possession. The recall does not apply to any other Sara Lee brand bakery products.
Consumers may return affected product to the store where it was purchased for a full refund.
