FONA International, EPA settle dispute

WASHINGTON, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- FONA International Inc. agreed to settle an issue with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency by paying $70,000.

The EPA alleged that the Illinois company violated clean-air and hazardous-waste regulations at a Carol Stream facility.

The agreement also resolves EPA allegations that the company violated the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act and state regulations by not complying with recordkeeping and reporting requirements for hazardous wastes generated at the facility.
