Nordstrom Oil outlets to Casey's General

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Casey's General Stores Inc. said Tuesday it would pay $63 million to buy as many as 33 convenience stores from Nordstrom Oil Co. of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

All of the stores are in Iowa and operate under the HandiMart banner. For the fiscal year ended Nov. 30, 2005, the stores generated total sales of about $174 million.

"The acquisition of the HandiMart locations is an excellent fit with our acquisition strategy and further strengthens our existing market presence in Iowa," said Robert J. Myers, the Casey's chief executive. "They are high volume stores in excellent locations."
