Dell shakes up its Americas division

AUSTIN, Texas, June 30 (UPI) -- Dell Inc. is reorganizing its struggling Americas division to boost sales and customer service.

Kevin Rollins, chief executive, said the management changes was designed to allow Dell to be "much more focused on growth and meeting customer needs," particularly in the United States, the Financial Times reported.

Joe Marengi, a 9-year Dell veteran, has assumed control of the company's U.S. corporate business group. Lawrence Pentland, a third Dell executive, has been put in charge of Latin American and Canadian businesses. Ro Parra is in charge of the group's consumer and small business operations.
