SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 25 (UPI) -- Sun Microsystems Inc.'s chief executive, Scott G. McNealy, is resigning after 22 years on the job.

Known for both his litigation against rival Microsoft Corp. and a four-year streak of no yearly profits, McNealy will remain as the company's chairman and "chief evangelist," the Washington Post said Tuesday.
