LONDON, April 17 (UPI) -- General Electric is expected to make a bid for BAA after the British airport operator rejected a $16.5 billion Goldman Sachs takeover bid.
BAA, which runs Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Edinburgh airports, has been the subject of bid speculation since February, when the Spanish construction group Ferrovial first indicated its desire to buy the world's largest airports operator, the Financial Times said Monday.
