Textron hires AHI to make armor

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., March 30 (UPI) -- Florida-based Armor Holdings Inc. said Thursday it landed a $33.6 million contract to make armor for a U.S. Army vehicle.

Textron Marine & Land hired AHI to make armor components for the Army's M1117 Armored Security Vehicle with deliveries required during 2006 and continuing into the second quarter of 2007.

Work under the new award will be performed by the Armor Holdings Aerospace and Defense Group facilities in Phoenix.
