Health care concerns grow

LONDON, March 9 (UPI) -- The head of Britain's Royal College of Nursing, citing growing financial problems, warns patients are not getting the right level of care in hospitals.

Dr Beverly Malone told Sky News the government's health system is affecting the quality of nurses' work and creating low morale.

But Health minister Jane Kennedy says: "The health service is facing financial pressure - but it's not in crisis."

A union of public servants says the debt in the health service is higher than that the government has admitted. It says the situation is creating "fear and demoralization among staff and patients."
