WASHINGTON, March 2 (UPI) -- First-time U.S. jobless claims last week rose 15,000 to 294,000, the Labor Department said Thursday.
That's more than the 290,000 that economists expected for the week ending Feb 25.

The four-week moving average rose to 287,250, an increase of 5,250 from the previous week's revised average of 282,000.
