CHICAGO, Jan. 1 (UPI) -- Hiring managers will more aggressively recruit diverse candidates, especially women and Hispanics, a U.S. survey found.
One-in-10 hiring managers predicted diverse candidates will comprise 50 percent or more of their new hires in 2006, while one-third expected diverse candidates to comprise 25 percent or more of their new hires, found the a survey of 1,300 hiring managers nationwide by CareerBuilder.com and America Online.
To encourage recruitment and retention of employees, 48 percent of hiring managers say they are willing to provide more flexible work arrangements such as job sharing and alternate schedules in 2006.
Twenty-seven percent of hiring managers say they will be more willing to allow employees to telecommute given rising energy costs.
