Coke to quit vanilla, start black cherry

ATLANTA, Nov. 5 (UPI) -- Coca-Cola will offer two new flavors of its soft drinks and take three off the shelves after a sales decline.

The company is nixing Vanilla Coke, Vanilla Diet Coke and Diet Coke With Lemon in exchange for Diet Black Cherry Vanilla Coke and Black Cherry Vanilla Coke, Atlanta-based Coca-Cola Company said in a release.

Katie Bayne of Coca-Cola North America said the Vanilla Coke lines were moneymakers and may be offered again soon.

She said consumers have told the company they would prefer the black cherry varieties.

Bayne didn't say whether Diet Coke With Lemon would make a comeback.
