Target recalls Chinese-made candles

MINNEAPOLIS, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Minneapolis-based Target Corp. agreed Tuesday to voluntarily recall 17,000 so-called Pillar Candles with jewels.

Imported by Pacific Trade International Inc. of Rockville, Md., paint coating on the outside of the Chinese-made candles can ignite, posing a fire hazard, Target said.

No injuries or deaths have been reported.

Consumers should stop using the candles immediately and return them to the nearest Target store for a Target GiftCard worth the value of the returned candles.
