PARIS, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- Paris has ordered Denmark's big A.P. Moller-Maersk shipping company to pay $600,000 for alleged pollution violations.
French authorities are holding the container ship Maersk Barcelona in Brest pending receipt of the fine, levied after alleged pollution of waters off the coast of Brittany, the Copenhagen Post reported Thursday.

The oil slick was discovered Tuesday by aerial inspection, officials said.
