Known as flash memory, it can store vastly more memory than existing technologies, has no moving parts and uses little power, USA Today reported Monday.

Panasonic, for example, will begin selling a camcorder this month that can store about 100 minutes of video on a tiny flash memory card.
One type of flash memory called NAND flash, is expected to post revenue growth of 18 percent a year for the next five years.
