Baby sunglasses fashioned by mom

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 7 (UPI) -- A Los Angeles mother who designed her own pair of sunglasses for her infant daughter is now selling the children's sunglasses online.

Paula Murphy said she couldn't find a pair of suitable sunglasses for her daughter, Parker Grace, so she designed her own. Now she's marketing the eyewear under the name ParkerG -- after her daughter.

"Taking Parker into the hot L.A. sun without eye protection concerned me," said Murphy. "And, after scouring stores to find a pair of baby sunglasses that were both comfortable and at least somewhat fashionable, I came up empty handed."

The baby sunglasses provide 100 percent protection from the harmful rays of the sun, have impact resistant lenses and only cloth touches the baby's skin, said Murphy.

The sunglasses, available in Los Angeles boutiques and online at parkergrace.com, come in several styles -- from the original Goo Goo Goggles for $28 to the Shady Baby at $36, which incorporates a hat with the sunglasses.
