LONDON, Aug. 4 (UPI) -- Royal Dutch Shell PLC said Thursday the outgoing head of Finland's Nokia cell phone company will be the oil company's new chairman.

Jorma Ollila, whose departure from Nokia as its chief executive effective June 6, 2006, was announced only days ago, will replace Aad Jacobs as the energy giant's non-executive chairman.

Beginning next June 6, Ollila will work at Royal Dutch Shell's Hague, Netherlands, offices with Chief Executive Jeroen van der Veer.

Royal Dutch Shell said it had conducted a global search for a replacement to Jacobs.
