MOSCOW, July 25 (UPI) -- Russian farmers have harvested 17 percent more grains this season than they did last time this year, officials in Moscow said Monday.
Total grain harvested in 2005 came to 21.8 million tons, up 2.8 million tons from last year, Russia's Agriculture Ministry reported.

In related news, grain and leguminous crops have been threshed on 7.1 million hectares, or 16 percent of all planted areas, which is 2 million more than a year ago.
