Yahoo! upgrades text message capability

NEW YORK, July 8 (UPI) -- U.S. Internet portal Yahoo! has a search feature that lets people send text message queries to its search engine and get results on their cell phones.

Yahoo SMS Search, which resembles the Google SMS service, allows users to get information on a wide range of subjects including local listings, stock quotes, dictionary definitions, area codes, weather, horoscopes, zip codes and Wi-Fi hotspots, electricnews.com reported Friday.

It is currently only available for use by users in the United States, electricnews.com reported Friday.
