Verizon goes multilingual in New England

NEW YORK, June 7 (UPI) -- Verizon's customer service center in New York City will begin servicing foreign-language speakers in New England, the company said.

Until now, the center in Queens had only offered services to those in the New York City area, where there are about 365,000 customers who speak Chinese, Korean or Russian.

By expanding its outreach across New England. Verizon will be able to serve an additional 75,000 customers, the company said in a release.

New York-based Verizon currently has over 1,000 employees who work in its 13 multilingual customer service centers nationwide. The centers offer services in Cantonese, Mandarin, Vietnamese, Korean, Spanish and Russian languages.

Verizon customers in New England can call 888-878-9188 to communicate in Chinese, 800-483-7772 to communicate in Korean and 877-250-7400 to communicate in Russian.
