MOSCOW, March 23 (UPI) -- Russia's government-owned Rosneft energy giant appears ready to seek a court-ordered bankruptcy of what is left of the beleaguered Yukos oil company.
Yuganskneftegaz, a prized crude oil production unit of Yukos now owned by Rosneft after a Kremlin-orchestrated takeover, intends to file a bankruptcy lawsuit against its parent company, Alexander Temerko, a deputy Yukos board chairman, says.

If such a scenario plays out, and if Yuganskneftegaz sues Yukos for $11 billion for alleged debts, Yugansk will become the main creditor of Yukos, Novosti reported Wednesday.
As its main creditor, it would have first pick over Yukos assets in a bankruptcy court administration of the company.
