AMSTERDAM, Netherlands, March 1 (UPI) -- Dutch phone group KPN said Tuesday it may cut up to 5,250 jobs by the end of 2007 as it struggles to cut costs.
The company said about 1,500 to 1,750 jobs will be slashed each year until December 2007 and it could slash another 3,000 positions in the following two years.

The job cuts come as KPN continues to make up for a slowdown in fixed-line sales. The plan will save the phone company about $595 million by 2007, KPN said.
