CHICAGO, Feb. 3 (UPI) -- Avon Products, known for its saleswomen who offer cosmetics and skin-care items door to door, will start selling brassieres this summer in the United States.
Salespersons will offer customers Playtex and Bali bras made by Chicago's Sara Lee, better known for its Jimmy Dean sausages and Ball Park hot dogs, the Sun-Times reported Thursday.
A Sara Lee spokeswoman described the Avon deal as simply another way to sell products.
"We've got retail stores, we've got the Internet, phone, catalog. It's just another avenue for us to reach the consumer," said Sara Lee spokeswoman Julie Ketay.
