TOKYO, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- Japan's machinery orders for October fell 3.1 percent from September, the government reported Thursday.
The decline was greater than expected, and far higher than the 1.9 percent drop posted in September.

The Cabinet Office said that orders from electronics manufacturers fell, as companies try to reduce their inventories.
