Hong Kong fair brings in $64 million

HONG KONG, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- The Hong Kong Trade Development Council said Sunday the Hong Kong Electronics Fair brought in at least $64 million in tourism income.

More than 2,020 exhibitors from 23 countries and regions showcased their products at the fair last week, up 4 percent from last year, reported Xinhua, China's main government-run news agency.

The council said more than half of the record 53,000 buyers came from outside Hong Kong, and they spent an average of $2,034.

The Electronics Fair, the largest of its kind in Asia, was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.
