WASHINGTON, Sept. 10 (UPI) -- A federal judge Friday ruled against a proposed $6 million settlement between Dallas-based Halliburton and shareholders, CBSMarketWatch.com said.
Shareholders sued the energy contractor for inflating its share price through improper accounting practices, which falsely inflated its revenue and earnings.

Judge Barbara Lynn of the U.S. District Court of Dallas said she felt the settlement amount that Halliburton had proposed was not large enough.
