Viking Systems buys Lighthouse Imaging

LA JOLLA, Calif., Aug. 16 (UPI) -- Viking Systems of La Jolla, Calif., Monday agreed to buy the assets of Lighthouse Imaging of Portland, Maine, for cash and Viking stock.

Viking Systems is a medical products company focused on integrated solutions for the digital surgical environment.

Viking said the transaction is subject to several closing conditions, and if resolved, is expected to close in September.

Lighthouse, a Food and Drug Administration-registered medical device manufacturer, specializes in medical optics design and assembly. Lighthouse's products, patent portfolio and services offerings include endoscopic instrumentation, optical measuring systems, medical illumination, fiber optic imaging technology and new optical product specification and feasibility studies.
