Bush's antitrust commission meets July 15

WASHINGTON, June 28 (UPI) -- The presidential antitrust modernization commission said Monday it will conduct its first public meeting July 15 on Capitol Hill.

Members of the 12-member bipartisan commission were appointed by President Bush as well as the leadership of both the House and Senate. The purpose of the group is to identify and analyze the problems with the existing antitrust laws, and present a report to the White House and Congress on their findings by June 2007.

The commission chair is Deborah Garza, a partner at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson, a Washington law firm. Jonathan Yarowsky, a partner at Patton Boggs, is vice-chair of the group.
