Amazing Kids! holds toy design contest

LOS ANGELES, June 3 (UPI) -- Amazing Kids! of Los Angeles has kicked off its Second Annual Plush Toy Design Contest for children and teens.

The contest is once again being sponsored by Ty Inc., creator of the popular Beanie Babies plush toys.

Amazing Kids! said budding young toy designers, ages 6-17, must create an original plush toy design and submit one to two drawings of the toy, a written description and a name for the toy to Amazing Kids! at: 1158 26th Street, PMB 485, Santa Monica, Calif., 90403.

Contest deadline is Oct. 22, 2004.

The grand prize winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship and a chance to work with a professional toy designer as their mentor for a year. Other winners will receive a box of Beanie toys from Ty. The winning designs will be featured on the Amazing Kids! Web site in mid-November 2004.

Amazing Kids! is a children's educational non-profit organization that aims to inspire excellence in children and help them realize their potential.
