Judge asked to restrict Skilling

HOUSTON, April 22 (UPI) -- Federal prosecutors in Texas are seeking further restrictions on former Enron chief executive officer Jeff Skilling while he is awaiting trial.

Skilling allegedly violated terms of his $5 million bond in New York City this month when he became intoxicated in a bizarre incident at a restaurant, according to a government motion quoted Thursday by the Houston Chronicle.

Skilling tried to lift a woman's blouse in search of what he said was an FBI wiretap and attempted to steal a car's license plate, according to prosecutors.

U.S. District Judge Sim Lake is being asked to consider further restrictions on Skilling while he awaits trial in the Enron Case. Prosecutors could ask the judge to limit his travel or require alcohol or drug testing and treatment.

Skilling has pleaded innocent to 35 felony charges that he and others manipulated earnings reports to inflate the company's value and allowed insiders to profit through salaries, bonuses and stock sales.
