Devon buys Ocean Energy for $5.3 billion

OKLAHOMA CITY, Feb. 24 (UPI) -- Devon Energy Corp., an oil and gas producer, said Monday it has reached an agreement to acquire Ocean Energy Inc. for $5.3 billion. The merged company will be named Devon Energy Corporation and will have its headquarters in Oklahoma City.
