WASHINGTON, Jan. 16 (UPI) -- The Labor Department said Thursday the Consumer Price Index, a key measure of inflation at the retail level, inched up 0.1 percent in December. Economists were expecting the CPI to rise 0.2 percent after rising 0.1 percent in November and 0.3 percent in October.
