GDP expands 5.6 percent

WASHINGTON, May 24 (UPI) -- The Commerce Department on Friday reported that the U.S. economy, as measured by the gross domestic product, expanded at a revised 5.6 percent annual rate during the first quarter. Economists on Wall Street were expecting GDP to expand at a 6.0 percent rate in the first quarter.
