Blue-chips open higher

NEW YORK, April 18 (UPI) -- Stock prices on the New York Stock Exchange opened higher in moderate trading Thursday, lifted by a positive forecast from computer hardware maker IBM. Prices eased on the Nasdaq Stock Market. The Dow Jones industrial average was ahead 23.00 points to 10,243.70 shortly after the opening bell. The Nasdaq composite index was down 3.56 points to 1,807.11.
