Louis Morris Murphy, Jr. (born May 11, 1987) is an American professional football player who is a wide receiver in the National Football League (NFL). Murphy played college football for the University of Florida, and now plays professionally for the Oakland Raiders of the NFL.
Murphy was born in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1987. He earned the honor of being an Eagle Scout. Murphy attended Lakewood High School in St. Petersburg, where he played for the Lakewood Spartans high school football team and was a highly recruited wide receiver. He was ranked as the 37th best wide receiver by Rivals.com in 2005. He chose to go to Florida over other top Division 1 Schools
Murphy received an athletic scholarship to attend the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, where he played wide receiver for coach Urban Meyer's Florida Gators football team from 2005 to 2008.
