Fred Smith was a first class cricketer who played 13 matches for Yorkshire County Cricket Club in 1903. He played for Yorkshire Second XI in 1903 and 1904.

A left-handed batsman, he scored 292 runs at 16.22 with a best of 55 against Kent. He scored also scored 51 against Somerset and took three catches in all. He was born on December 18, 1879 in Yeadon, Yorkshire and died on October 20, 1905 in Nelson, Lancashire aged just 25.
