Dino Rossi (born October 15, 1959) is an American commercial real estate executive, former Republican candidate for Governor of Washington, and current Republican candidate for United States Senate. Rossi is a former Washington State Senator. He has had two prior candidacies that were unsuccessful. In the 2004 election that would become the closest gubernatorial race in United States history, Rossi was certified as governor-elect before losing a second hand recount to emocrat Christine Gregoire. He also ran for Governor of Washington in 2008, losing to Gregoire 47% to 53%.
Rossi began his professional career in the commercial real estate industry and has continued to invest in and manage income properties. After the 2008 election, Rossi returned to commercial real estate industry full-time.
During the spring of 2010 there was speculation that Rossi might enter the 2010 Senate race to challenge incumbent Patty Murray. Rossi entered the race on May 26, 2010. On August 17, 2010 Dino Rossi successfully defeated the other Republican challengers in the primary and faced Patty Murray in the general election on November 2.
