Nov. 14 (UPI) -- A training jet crashed at Laughlin Air Force Base in Texas, killing one pilot and leaving a passenger hospitalized, the air base reported.
The T-38C Talon crashed on the base Tuesday, prompting an investigation by the board of directors. The injured pilot was taken to Val Verde Regional Medical Center.
The names were being withheld until family members are notified.
The crash happened about 7:40 p.m. Central time.
The T-38 is a training aircraft used to get pilots ready to fly front-line fighter and bomber aircraft.
The base is located about 150 miles west of San Antonio near Del Rio, Texas.
On Monday, a U.S. Navy F/A-18 Hornet crashed into the sea off the Philippines. The two-member crew safely ejected.
