Dec. 12 (UPI) -- An Australian snake catcher share video of a dangerous catch that nearly ended with his taking a highly venomous bite.
Stuart McKenzie posted a video to Facebook showing a capture at a Queensland home where an eastern brown snake, one of the most venomous species in the world, managed to escape from his bag.
"As I lowered him into the bag he flung his body upwards and I didn't react quick enough and as I let him go, rather than going into the bag he was now sitting on the rim of the snake bag coming up the handle," McKenzie wrote. "I immediately dropped the bag as he was getting way to close to my hand."
McKenzie said the snake escaped, but he managed to find it hiding in a cardboard box about 20 minutes later.
