Jan. 3 (UPI) -- A Virginia sheriff's office is asking the public to be on the lookout for an unusual fugitive from justice -- a free-roaming cow.
The York Poquoson Sheriff's Office said in a Twitter post that the cow has been repeatedly spotted hanging out in a wooded area.
"BOLO- this elusive bovine has been on the loose in a wooded area near Penniman Rd. Sgt Radcliffe put out a few bales of hay near where it has been bedding down. Animal control has a plan to catch the cow & deliver it to a rescue facility," the sheriff's office tweeted.
Residents who spot the loose cow are being asked to report the bovine to 911.
