Jan. 2 (UPI) -- A Florida man driving home from work received a fright when a large iguana seemingly fell out of the sky and came crashing down on his windshield.
Dan Palma, a photojournalist for WPLG-TV, told the station he was driving home Thursday in Davie when his windshield was cracked by a falling object that he soon realized was alive.
Palma shared photos and video of the iguana that apparently fell out of a tree and cracked his windshield.
He said the lizard, which was apparently uninjured, crawled over his vehicle for about a half-hour before he was able to chase it away with a broom.
Iguanas are known to turn up in unexpected and inconvenient places in Florida, including in residents' toilets, in outdoor seating areas of restaurants and the middle of professional tennis matches.
