Dec. 13 (UPI) -- Netflix has announced that Season 2 of Marvel's The Punisher starring Jon Bernthal in the title role, will debut on the streaming service in January.
Netflix released on Twitter Wednesday a short teaser clip that featured The Punisher's signature skull logo being spray painted onto a black surface.
"Time to reload. #The Punisher Season 2 is coming," Netflix said. An exact premiere date was not given.
The company also provided a brief glimpse of Bernthal entering into a van and driving back into action at the end of a highlight video that showcased all of the content coming to Netflix in January.

New cast members Josh Stewart, Floriana Lima and Giorgia Whigham will be joining Bernthal in Season 2.
The Punisher Season 2 comes as Netflix has canceled each of its Marvel shows after a new season debuted including Iron Fist, Luke Cage and Daredevil. Only The Punisher and Jessica Jones have yet to be canceled.
