Reports: Pedro Pascal lands lead in 'Star Wars' series

Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Game of Thrones, Narcos and The Great Wall actor Pedro Pascal has been offered the lead role in the Disney+ Star Wars series, The Mandalorian.

Unnamed sources told Variety on Tuesday that negotiations with Pascal were underway.

TheWrap.com, which also reported the news citing anonymous sources, said neither Disney nor Pascal's representatives responded to its requests for comment.

The Jungle Book and Iron Man filmmaker Jon Favreau is writing and producing the project, which will take place between the films, Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens.

The program's title refers to those from the planet of Mandalore, the home world of bounty hunters Jango Fett and his son Boba Fett.
