May 29 (UPI) -- Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins defended his title against Jinder Mahal Monday on Raw in a match that ended via disqualification.

Rollins and Mahal met in the ring following the events of last week when Mahal assaulted Rollins and Roman Reigns with a steel chair after the pair won a Tag Team Match against The Modern Day Maharaja and Kevin Owens.

Rollins, who had interrupted and ended a musical performance by Elias before the match started, dominated the early minutes of the bout before Mahal slowed things down by concentrating on The Kingslayer's ribs.

Mahal at one point used a steel chair to strike Rollins in the stomach while the referee was distracted by throwing out his henchman, Sunil Singh. Mahal's right-hand man would return with Rollins taking him out with a Buckle Bomb that also hurt Mahal. The champ then grew enraged and grabbed a steel chair to attack Mahal with which led to a disqualification.

Rollins would continue to attack Mahal and Singh with the chair before Mahal was able to escape. As the champ celebrated on the announcer's table, Elias returned and smashed his guitar against the back of Rollins who was then placed on a stretcher before he was able to stand up and walk.

Also on Raw, Nia Jax played mind games with Ronda Rousey who she will defend her Raw Women's Championship against at Money in the Bank on June 17.

Jax, with Rousey looking on from the announce table, demonstrated on local competitor Michelle Webb that she could easily escape Rousey's signature Armbar submission hold. Jax then continued to punish Webb with a Samoan Drop, Leg Drop and a Rolling Senton to demonstrate her power.

Rousey was then invited into the ring to help Webb back up. Jax remained unafraid of The Baddest Woman on the Planet and laughed off her mean mug before she exited the ring.

In the main event, Sasha Banks won a Gauntlet Match to earn the last remaining spot in the upcoming Women's Money in the Bank Ladder Match.

Bayley started out the Gauntlet with Liv Morgan whom she quickly defeated before also taking out Sarah Logan. The two members of the Riott Squad then attacked Bayley together which helped Ruby Riott eliminate her.

Riott then went on to defeat Dana Brooke and Mickie James before facing off against Banks in the finals. The Boss won the match after making Riott tap out to the Bank Statement.

Other moments from Raw included a match between Finn Balor and Braun Strowman ending in a disqualification due to interference from Owens; Raw Tag Team Champions Woken Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt defeating The Ascension before a Memorial Day party was held with other tag teams; Owens defeating Bobby Roode before being attacked by Strowman; Sami Zayn offering an apology to Bobby Lashley for insulting his family; and Drew McIntyre defeating Chad Gable.
