Jan. 16 (UPI) -- German-Romanian boxer Florian Munteanu is set to star alongside Michael B. Jordan and Sylvester Stallone in upcoming boxing sequel Creed 2.

Creed 2, a continuation of the Rocky series, will feature Munteanu as the son of Russian boxer Ivan Drago who was the main antagonist in 1985's Rocky IV, Variety reported. The film featured Drago killing Apollo Creed, the father of Jordan's character Adonis Creed.

Dolph Lundgren, who portrayed Ivan Drago, will be reprising his role.

Production on Creed 2 is set to begin production in March in Philadelphia with director Steven Caple Jr., noted The Hollywood Reporter.

Caple Jr. was hand picked by Stallone and Jordan to helm the sequel after Stallone announced on social media that he was going to direct the film after writing the screenplays for six previous Rocky films and directing Rocky II, Rocky III, Rocky IV and Rocky Balboa.

The first Creed, released in November 2015, centered around Adonis Creed as he became a boxer trained by Stallone reprising his role as Rocky Balboa. The film also starred Tessa Thompson who is also set to return for the sequel.

Creed 2 is set to arrive in theaters on Nov. 21.
