Magnetic Fields confirmed Anway's death on Instagram Thursday.

"It is with great sadness that we hear of the death of our first singer, Susan Anway," Magnetic Fields said before discussing her history with the band.

"She was a lovely person and will be missed by all of us," they continued.

Anway was first a part of Boston-based band V before she joined Magnetic Fields. She sang on the group's first two albums, Distant Plastic Trees from 1991 and The Wayward Bus from 1992.

Anway was also a member of electropop band Diskarnate.
