Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Will Ferrell is set to revive his Anchorman character Ron Burgundy for a new podcast series that will premiere in early 2019.
The show, titled The Ron Burgundy Podcast, will be made available on the iHeartRadio Podcast Network and is being co-produced by iHeartRadio and comedy website Funny or Die.
A second season of the program is also expected to launch in 2019.
A Twitter account for the character announced the podcast Monday on Twitter. Burgundy told CNN's Don Lemon his White House press credentials were pulled because he ate too many hot dogs in the press break room.
"The media landscape is changing so fast and I DO NOT CARE FOR IT. That's why I'm starting a 'podcast!'" the comedic reporter said.
Don, I am laughing out loud! So about that favor: the media landscape is changing so fast and I DO NOT CARE FOR IT. That's why I'm starting a “podcast!”

Ferrell portrayed Burgundy in 2004's Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy and again in 2013's Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues.
"Listen, I don't know what a podcast is, but I currently have a lot of time on my hands and a lot to talk about," Burgundy said in a statement. "I am also broke. Therefore, I am very excited to do this podcast. It is literally saving my life."
