Dec. 4 (UPI) -- Kanye West apologized on Twitter for using his phone during a performance of The Cher Show, a Broadway musical about the singer's life and career.
West's apology came after he was called out on the social media site for using his phone by actor Jarrod Spector who portrays Sonny Bono in the show.
The rapper attended the official opening of The Cher Show at the Neil Simon Theatre in New York on Monday alongside his wife Kim Kardashian, a noted Cher fan.
"Hey @kanyewest so cool that you're here at @TheCherShow! If you look up from your cell phone you'll see we're doing a show up here. It's opening night. Kind of a big deal for us. Thanks so much," Spector said.
"The dynamics of Cher and Sonny's relationship made Kim and I grab each other's hand and sing 'I got you babe,'" West said in response to Spector. "Please pardon my lack of etiquette. We have so much appreciation for the energy you guys put into making this master piece."

Kardashian also praised the musical on Twitter. "The Cher Show was sooooo good! I learned so much about her that I didn't know. She really opened up about her life and all of the actors were sooo good! You all have to check it when in NYC. We had the best time!" she said.
