Markle, who wore a beige pencil dress with a cape top, and the queen, who sported a floral dress and green coat, visited Mersey Gateway Bridge. The pair met with architects, planners and other members of the community, according to People.

"At the opening of @MerseyGateway Bridge, The Duchess of Sussex joins The Queen to watch a performance by local schoolchildren," Kensington Palace tweeted.

Markle and Elizabeth's next stop was the Storyhouse in nearby Chester. The pair watched a performance from the Fallen Angels dance company and heard songs from a production of A Little Night Music.

"In the main floor at @Storyhouselive, The Queen and The Duchess of Sussex sit to view a performance of 'Drop in the Ocean.' #RoyalVisitCheshire," Kensington Palace tweeted.

Markle and Harry tied the knot May 19 at St. George's Chapel at Windsor Castle. The couple will make an official visit to Australia, Fiji, the Kingdom of Tonga and New Zealand in the fall.
