May 30 (UPI) -- Paris Jackson says she left a Dior show out of concern for the horses involved.
The 20-year-old actress explained her abrupt departure in a tweet Tuesday after exiting the Dior Cruise fashion show Saturday in Chantilly, France.
"to be clear, i did not 'storm out' of the show," Jackson wrote in response to reports.
"i quietly got up and walked out trying my hardest not to cause a scene, because i do not support animals being branded and whipped," she said. "not trying to become enemies in the fashion world in any way, but i will always be myself."
The New York Times reported Jackson, the daughter of late singer Michael Jackson, had "stalked out in a rage" after the show began. The show, inspired by Mexico's female escaramuzo riders, featured several horses and riders.
"i was not 'enraged,' just taken by surprise and a little heartbroken," Jackson tweeted. "and i have no doubt that all high end fashion brands will soon switch over to no-fur and anti animal cruelty, as that seems to be the pattern here. and we should all be very excited about that!"

Jackson had shared a post-show photo of herself Sunday on Instagram.
"left early n did this," she captioned the picture.
Dior has not commented on Jackson's exit from the show. The French couture house shared a series of photos from the event Wednesday on Twitter that showed the horses and riders involved.
